The release of Charlatan has won a nomination for Best Shorts film festival where others have gone on to win Oscars and Emmys, Charlatan has also been officially been selected TINFF Film Festival in Canada and Great Lakes International Film Festival showing that it has gravitated to audiences and critics all around. Charlatan is sure to wow audiences. Short film written and directed by actor and writer Kwame Ghartey Amoo executive producer William Roberts, Cinematopher shot by Dennisha Frazier and Renard Marc also assistant A.D.s featuring a stellar cast and the collaborative efforts of a terrific crew, Charlatan brings to life an absorbing story and a variety of compelling characters.
Film with shot in 4 different Countries Ghana, London, Canada, United States. Director's objective is to obtain a production deal for rights to create more content and possibly make Charlatan into a full feature film or network series. A little bit about the Director Ghartey Amoo native from Ghana raised in Washington DC and Maryland, Ghartey holds a B.A. in Public Relations and a Masters in Fine arts in Communication. After moving to NYC Ghartey attended Stella Alder school of acting and worked on his love for acting. Scoring roles in theatre and small roles in TV and commercials and print work Ghartey wanted to create his own content and provide a new look into cinema and creative ideas and story lines. Ghartey still works also as a workering actor and print model under Tara Reid Management but also knows his own film production company Amoo Cinema will help open more doors for him and other actors with amazing talents.
Brief description synopsis: Addae is a young man that is broken by civil war in his hometown of Africa but is determined to come over to United States. As Addae wins a lottery to come to the U.S. his foster mom falls ill and dies unexpectedly. With no parents around to guide Addae he runs into his old high school friend Efani from Maryland. Now Addae has become an upright citizen and was delivering news papers and narrowing the right path but Efani had other plans for Addae.
The campaign gets distressing as Addae learns in order to live big and rich like his colleague Efani he has to dwell in the under world of criminal activity such as scamming and fraudulent activity. Due to Addaes sick sense primary opponents arent that easy to be tainted.

Making this film we have been fortunate to work with so many different people from young to old to overseas to local. I gained friendships with my cast and crew and with a special bond on our Editorial Consultant Nelson Tracey who has worked on many projects big and small in the industry such as The Last Animals featuring Prince William.
About Film: When a orphan kid comes over to the U.S. from a Civil War in Africa his life turns more downward as he loses his foster mom to cancer. Frustrated with terrible relationships his life has provided the young man only grows up more infatuated with the underworld of scamming and fraudulent activity which at the end have catastrophic consequences but yet ahold theres a menacing plot twist as his journey unwinds through different countries and territories.
